Alan worked at Surface and Nanoscience Laboratory at Acdemia Sinica for instrumentation on high speed atomic force microscopy before coming to Georgia Tech. He is a co-found member of Strømlinet Nano Inc., a startup selling the lowest-cost AFM in the world. With his specialty on AFM instrumentation, Alan is currently working on characterizing interfacial free energy landscape for various biomaterials with AFM. During his free time, he likes to play tennis, cook, and listen to music.
